Q: What services do you provide as Risk Manager?
DD: We provide complete oversight and management of the OrthoSynetics Insurance Program, including program design, coverage placement, claims management and insurance certificate generation for commercial business coverages.
Q: What does this do for OrthoSynetics affiliated doctors?
DD: Our insurance program provides comprehensive protection of practice assets and lost practice income with coverage limits and pricing not available to non-OSI doctors. Also, when an insurance claim occurs, the doctor does not have to become an expert in this complex and confusing process. Equally important is that the payment to the doctor for any claim is maximized. In addition, our doctors can rest easy knowing this high exposure area of their practice is well managed and that they do not need to shop for coverage or deal with - insurance agents, policy renewals, coverage comparisons, pricing comparisons, insurance certificate requests or detailed and complex insurance questions and exposures.
Q: What do you like best about what you do?
DD: Helping a customer out in times of stress and hardship is very rewarding to me. I also like the fact that we provide both high quality service and an excellent insurance program that is significantly better than anything available elsewhere.
Q: What is it most doctors don’t know about what you do?
DD:Most doctors don’t know what to do if something goes wrong. We should be the first call. They stand to lose a lot if they do not seek assistance with their insurance claim or if their insurance coverage is not adequate. We help doctors navigate through what is a confusing claims process. After an incident, I can quickly assess the situation and help stabilize the location. I’ll also get other OSI departments involved as needed and report the claim to get things back to normal as soon as possible.
Also, the doctors should know that they do not need to pay insurance charges on equipment to lenders or lessors. The equipment in their offices is insured, and if any lenders or lessors are charging them for insurance on equipment financed or leased, contact me to discuss.
